The Underworld Arms Cyclops Compensator for the Military Armament Corp 5" MAC 9 DS 1911, is a frame mounted compensator with a large expansion chamber that redirects the gas into a single top port that is similar in size to the Staccato XC and Sand Hawk.
This 50 state legal compensator is made for unthreaded barrels and is anodized black. This compensator has an ambi thumb ledge lower with horizontal serrations that match the horizontal serrations on the slide release and thumb safety, which creates a cohesive aesthetic.
We designed our thumb ledge lower around the X300, other brands of lights have longer mounts and will sit farther forward.
Adding a compensator to a pistol reduces muzzle flip and recoil energy, as a result recoil spring tuning may be required and we offer a spring set for this purpose.
Compatible holsters are available HERE
This compensator increases the dimensions of the firearm so it requires a dedicated holster like the ones we make or a universal holster such as the MSP Tier 1, or the blackhawk omnivore light bearing.

Alot of thread on comps claim 15% to 35% reduction in muzzle flip. Well, if I'm being honest the Underworld Arms Cyclops Compensator is at the lower end, but the 2.7 oz and the 15% makes it a flat shooter. Manufacturers have either compensated or added mass to control recoil and you get both. It's the perfect weight, functions just enough and looks cool!
I'll say this, most true compensators advertise 15-30% muzzle rise, well I'd say the Underworld Arms is at the lower 15%. That said, it also has its weight of 2.7 ounces, which I think is perfect, at least for the MAC DS9. And it looks cool! Bottom line: My Mac shoots flat with standard 115gr range ammo.
