The Underworld Arms Basilisk Compensator fits both the Prodigy 5" and Prodigy 5" Comp. It is a frame mounted compensator with two large expansion chambers that redirect the gas flow into two large top ports and four angled side ports which dramatically reduces muzzle flip and felt recoil.

This 50 state legal compensator is made for unthreaded barrels. The Basilisk is available anodized black or cerakote coyote brown. This compensator has an ambi thumb ledge lower with horizontal serrations that match the horizontal serrations on the slide release and thumb safety which creates a cohesive aesthetic.

We designed our thumb ledge lower around the X300, other brands of lights have longer mounts and will sit farther forward.

On some builds recoil spring tuning may be required. The stock recoil spring is 10lbs, with this compensator a spring in the 8-9lbs range may be necessary for reliable cycling. We sell a spring tuning kit for this purpose.

This compensator increases the dimensions of the firearm so it requires a dedicated holster such as the ones we make, or Tac-Rig (these have the most features and highest quality construction), or a universal holster such as the MSP Tier 1, and the blackhawk omnivore light bearing.

Ok so firstly- what i received wasn't the MK 2 but i emailed company same day just to notify someone else may have got my order- Ididn't ask for a replacement lower, because i figured i could live with what i received- 3 days later the correct one shows up free of chrage. WOW. As far as does it do what they say it wil do? In a word YES. I put it on a 5 inch comped prodigy and it made considerable diffrence in muzzle flip. I allowed a young man to shoot my handgun first time ever and he was hitting the bullet holes granted only at 15 feet but he is around 9 years old and the pistol didn't try to recoil out of his hands. First of all, what I received wasn't the MK 2. I emailed the company the same day to let them know that someone else might have received my order. I didn't ask for a replacement lower because I figured I could live with what I received. Three days later, the correct one showed up free of charge. Wow!

As for whether it does what they say it will do—yes, it absolutely does! I put it on a 5-inch compensated Prodigy, and it made a significant difference in muzzle flip. I let a young man shoot my handgun for the first time, and he was able to hit not only the target but the bullet holes. Granted, we were only shooting from 15 feet away, but he is around 9 years old, and the pistol didn’t try to recoil out of his hands.

I am happy with the looks of the gun. I haven’t shot it yet, but I expect it will shoot as good as the others I have with UWA comps on them.

Full disclosure- i have not used this compensator yet. I purchased for the 5" prodigy, but once installing; wellit's just too big. Nearingcomically oversized.
It is lightweight for sure and wont add too much to the nose end. And the numerous reviews and videos do show very clear less muzzle rise. It's just too big to add to the 5" prodigy for me. Now, I didn't return it either. My plan is to give it a full work out with a cornucopia of various ammo brands and weights. AFTER I have fully broke in my prodigy. This way I can better assess thecompensator on a pistol I feel is proven and reliable. This would look great ( and probably perform just as great) on a 3.5 or the 4.25 inch versions, much better than the 5"er in mu opinion. But I was sent an email from underworld asking to review so here ya go. I'll be back in a bit with a better more in-depth assessment.
